PRIMARY PURPOSE:

Demonstrate the ability and desire to work effectively with young children and their families.  Perform typical physical tasks in a childcare setting.  Maintain the health, welfare, and safety of each child enrolled as it applies to their individual respect and to their ongoing development.

Experience:

Previous experience working with children in a childcare setting

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Development and implement curriculum and daily lesson plans based on assessment of each child’s development

Use developmental milestones as the primary means of gathering developmental data on child’s growth and meeting their needs

Work as a member of a team to ensure continuity of curriculum and high standard of quality in all classrooms

Maintain the care-giving standards established by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services

Maintain a minimum of 24 annual clock hours of professional development

Acquire and maintain CPR and First Aid certification

Monitor, observe, and supervise groups of children indoors and outdoors

Provide positive guidance to help children develop the ability to be self-disciplined

Observe and report any hazardous conditions of the building, grounds, or equipment to supervisors

Communicate (verbal, written, and electronic) regularly with parents on children’s daily activities

Perform emergency evacuation procedures

Attend to the hygienic needs of children

Maintain confidentiality of information regarding children, parents, and other staff

Follow rules, regulations and policies of Granbury ISD and follow directives from supervisors

Follow attendance policy as assigned by supervisor

Perform other functions that may be assigned by Administration and/or supervisor

 

 

Essential Job Functions:

Requires the ability to demonstrate patience and understanding of children. Also requires the ability to see, hear, learn, and implement developmentally appropriate practices and positive behavior management techniques. Year-round as determined in handbook, 30 hours a week.  Flexibility is required in determining hours worked, according to the needs of the program.
